Amsterdam North: space, creativity, and opportunities
Over the past six years, I have seen Amsterdam-Noord change up close. Whereas it used to be primarily a working-class area, it is now developing into a lively mix of living, working, and leisure. That transformation is far from complete.
What gives me energy are the projects that are in full swing here. The Hamerkwartier is a good example: the new plans put Noord firmly on the map and show that space plays a key role here. Compared to the busy city center, there are simply more possibilities, and you can see that in the creativity and boldness of the plans. It all remains a little rougher, and that gives the area character.
"In Noord, we find the opportunities, the dynamism, and the location that match our ambitions."
The market is also in flux. While prices per square meter are rising throughout Amsterdam, Noord remains more attractively priced than Centrum, Zuid, West, and Oost. Projects such as PAND Noord—now part of The Collection—show that the IJ no longer forms a barrier, but rather a bridge to new opportunities.
The dynamics of recent years speak for themselves. The NDSM site has grown into a creative hotspot, with projects such as Nautisch, Noordbaak, and Republica further enhancing its appeal. And this is just the beginning: numerous housing and area development projects are planned for the next ten to fifteen years, and we are already in talks with developers.
Thanks to the combination of attractive prices, good accessibility with the North/South metro line, and plenty of room to grow, Noord is a logical choice for companies looking for identity and future prospects.
Every day, I see how companies here seize opportunities and find their place. Are you curious about what's happening in Noord, or would you like to get acquainted? Let's talk.
