FC Hyena
FC Hyena is a charming combination of cinema, bar, and restaurant. You can watch cult films here in the two cozy cinema theaters. The BIMHUIS was founded in 1974 by a group of jazz musicians who felt Amsterdam lacked a venue for jazz music. An old furniture store was transformed into a stage, which they called the 'BIMHUIS'. It became a well-known venue among musicians and also provided a stage for up-and-coming talent. Over the years, it has developed into an internationally renowned venue for jazz and improvised music. Many jazz legends have performed there, including Art Blakey, Charles Mingus, and Archie Shepp. The current location opened in 2005 on the Piet Heinkade. It is an intimate venue where jazz music comes into its own. There is also a café and restaurant with a beautiful view over the IJ river.
