De Vondelparkbuurt West
My neighborhood, my home
What makes this location so special is that you actually get the best of three districts: Oud-West, Oud-Zuid, and Zuid. You benefit from the convenience and charm of each neighborhood. For your daily shopping, you can choose from an abundance of great stores, from well-known supermarkets to charming specialty shops where you can find the finest products for an evening meal with friends and family. Within walking distance, you will find countless fantastic restaurants, each with its own atmosphere and taste experiences. Here you live in the bustling heart of the city, with everything you need within easy reach!
For my daily shopping, I always enjoy going to Van der Laan butcher's on Zeilstraat—the quality there is top notch! For fresh fish, IJmuider Vishandel on Amstelveenseweg is my go-to place. And when it comes to wine, Chabrol on Overtoom is definitely the place to be for the best wines. For an evening out, Ron Gastrobar on Sophialaan is an absolute favorite, as is Bonnie on Amstelveenseweg, where the atmosphere is always cozy! And for lovers of Asian or Indian cuisine, there are plenty of great restaurants within walking distance, such as Restaurant Blauw. For a quick and delicious takeaway meal, Kokita is the place to be. On weekends, I like to start my day with a delicious cup of coffee at Coffee District on Hendrik Jacobzstraat. It's the perfect place to relax and enjoy a good coffee. In short, the neighborhood is bursting with hidden gems that will surprise you time and time again!
Luckily, I'm staying in the neighborhood, because my girlfriend and I have bought a great house near Zocherstraat. But I'm still going to miss my lovely apartment enormously. The Roof terrace in particular Roof terrace something very special. The many dinners I've had there with friends and family are memories I will always cherish. It's a truly unique place where you can enjoy the sun all day long—a luxury that's hard to beat!
This property is truly unique and offers everything you could wish for! The property was completely renovated in 2021, so you can enjoy brand new amenities and modern comforts. The location of the house is fantastic! Within walking distance of countless cozy shops and delicious restaurants, and Immediately to the beautiful Vondelpark. But what really makes this house unique is the spacious Roof terrace. Here you can enjoy the sun all day long. Thanks to the handy roof house, you can sit outside early in the season, even when it's still a bit chilly. Finally, the view is breathtaking. You look directly out over the Vondelpark and when the trees lose their leaves, you can even see the impressive skyline of the Zuidas. This is living at its best!
My favorite place in the house is without a doubt the Roof terrace. Once you're there, the city seems far away. You're surrounded by the cheerful sound of birds from the Vondelpark, and you can really disconnect from busy city life. It feels like an oasis of calm in the middle of the city. And in winter? Then I love to have drinks with friends and family around the kitchen island while we cook together. It's the heart of the home where the best conversations and most enjoyable moments take place!
Neighborhood guide
Boot camps, picnics, paddling—you can do it all in Vondelpark. This is the green heart of the city where everyone comes together and differences in status background disappear. The sun-drenched terrace of the Renaissance-style Vondelpark Pavilion, now Parkzuid, remains a wonderful place for drinks or dinner. This is the neighborhood for anyone who loves well-built, spacious residences to the city; with the Overtoom and Helmersbuurt, specialty shops, furniture stores, and shops for daily groceries are all within walking distance.

Adam
All dishes look beautiful, without excessive fuss. The flavors also make themselves felt: honest, exciting and balanced. We quickly come across a winner on our menu: perfectly cooked brill with a fresh, salty oyster vinaigrette, cucumber ribbons, almond cream, a bite of fried fish skin and a nori sauce. Equally tantalizing: a perfect piece of lamb from the Big Green Egg, prepared with chorizo and served with two delicious sauces.’

Focacceria
The Italian Valeria Lucente finds the Italian restaurants in Amsterdam surprisingly good, but she does miss the flavors of home. Especially the focaccia from her region. This delicate flatbread, about two centimeters thick, is airy, greasy and as soft as a cloud. Unlike focaccia from other Italian regions, the Genovese version does not have a crispy, but a soft top. This is because the dough is brushed with olive oil, water and salt before baking. Especially in Genoa, focaccia is enjoyed at every meal and that is now possible in Amsterdam.

Chef Huwaë's Indonesian roots and Asian influences spice up his inventiveness. He does not shy away from contrasting flavors. This chef's talent lies in the harmony he achieves with such combinations. Sometimes he is a little more classic, such as with a perfectly cooked langoustine served with a butter sauce enriched with champagne, orange, and Grand Marnier. Subtle, intense, explosive. Totally Dennis Huwaë. Daalder has 1 Michelin star.
