Huize Loma, architect Warners was inspired by the apartments in Paris and Vienna and applied his vision in Amsterdam.
As soon as we walked into the art deco lobby of our beautiful building and took the old-fashioned elevator to our apartment overlooking lush trees, we fell in love with the property. Our building, Huize Loma, is the first real apartment complex in the Netherlands. Architect Warners was inspired by the apartments in Paris and Vienna and applied his vision in Amsterdam.
The building, called "Huize Loma," was designed by the prominent Amsterdam architect F.A. Warners and dates from 1913. It is characterized by its prestigious appearance and is constructed of brick, with four floors and a small concierge apartment on the ground floor. For its time, the building offered exceptional luxury amenities, such as an elevator, central heating, central hot water supply, and large roof terraces. In 1923, the attic floors were expanded and converted into residences.
During the most recent renovation in 2016, the layout was optimized and even more balance was brought to the connection between the living spaces. The large Roof terrace accessed from both the living rooms and the kitchen, offering a contemporary and modern living experience. Studio Dis supervised this renovation and clearly made use of the building's allure and authenticity.
Our place is bright, spacious, and quiet. It has been beautifully renovated by an architectural design firm, which is evident in the attention to detail and the use of space and light. We love leaving the hustle and bustle of the city behind when we come home. From our living room with its high ceilings and wall-to-wall windows, we watch the ever-changing clouds and seasons. In the summer, we open up the dining room and enjoy long summer evenings on our balcony, where you get that 'forest feeling' because there is so much greenery and the only sound you hear is the birds singing.'

Our apartment is located in Oud Zuid, a cozy and lively neighborhood with picturesque squares, lots of trees, numerous cozy cafés and restaurants, and the added bonus of being close to Vondelpark. Here you can live in a small village setting with everything a big city has to offer right on your doorstep. In the summer, we go to the many cafés and restaurants such as Café Garcon and Carters, not to mention the centuries-old Café Welling around the corner for jazzy summer evenings. In winter, our neighborhood turns into a fairytale with all the Christmas lights in the squares and the smell of oliebollen! Since we travel a lot, we love the bus right outside our door that takes us straight to the airport, the children's school is nearby, and our gym is across the street. Our place is well connected in terms of transportation and within walking distance of the city center, parks, and enchanting canals. As lovers of classical music, we feel privileged to be just a few steps away from concerts at the Concertgebouw and to take the children to the museums on Museumplein and ice skating in winter.

Chef Ilan Benamara himself is in the kitchen and enforces a simple but clear rule: everything is homemade, from the hummus to the pita bread. National Museum
The architect, Pierre Cuypers, had made a design in historical style for the Rijksmuseum, a mixture of Gothic and Renaissance and full of national symbolism.
