neighborhood guide
Located between Reguliersgracht and Utrechtsestraat is the quiet Utrechtsedwarsstraat. The street is surrounded by the Amstel, Amstelveld, and Frederiksplein. It is a highly regarded residential location for many, thanks in part to the good schools in the neighborhood and the diverse range of shops in Utrechtsestraat. The Amstelveld neighborhood also has a lot to offer in terms of cuisine, with high-quality restaurants such as Zoldering and De Juwelier, both of which have a Michelin star, and the Spectrum restaurant, part of the Waldorf, which even has two stars. Cultural attractions are within walking distance, including Carré, the Stopera, Pathé Tuschinski, the Concertgebouw, and various museums such as the Allard Pierson Museum, the Rijksmuseum, and the Hermitage. Recently, a Saturday market with local products has been held in the courtyard of the Hermitage. In addition, the renowned Flower Market has been held on Mondays at the Amstelveld Location for many years.

Dreamhouse
Nicoline and I have known each other for a long time and both have a strong affinity for design and the feel of residences. Nicoline has a distinctive style and often shows courage in her use of color and the way she experiences spaces. This refined dream home was initially designed for her own use during her stays in the Netherlands, which explains the high standard of finish. The two bedrooms well thought out and have beautiful built-in wardrobes. I also consider this location to be one of the nicest and most pleasant places in Amsterdam. The Utrechtsestraat, the Reguliersgracht, and the Amstelveld exude enormous history and are beautifully connected. The lovely boutique shops and restaurants give the place a sense of community and a village character. In the cozy winter months, I even compare this part of the city to the experience of Notting Hill, with its cozy lighting and wintery entourage.

The building was constructed in 1953 as a storage facility with three separate upstairs apartments, each for a family. In 2023, the current owners acquired the apartment and renovated it to its current state. The property is completely turnkey and equipped with built-in cupboards, a new kitchen, wooden flooring, a new bathroom, and attractive lighting.
The luxurious kitchen is finished in authentic marble, featuring beautiful classic moldings and high-end appliances such as a Quooker, dishwasher, and refrigerator from Siemens. This central location in the house is an important part of the experience and coziness of the space. The layout has been cleverly designed, with a dining table with built-in bench, workspace, and separate lounge area.
Both bedrooms spacious enough for a double bed and a built-in wardrobe. The bathroom has a warm and natural look and is tastefully finished with a marble countertop and beautiful fixtures.
The balcony adjacent to the kitchen is an extension of the space. The inner gardens on Utrechtsedwarsstraat are quiet but also green.
