The building
A national monument from the late 18th century with a curved facade. The monument Number 1100. In 1904, the porch and sidewalk were removed and it served as a shop for a time. The last known shop was a tobacco shop. In 1973, a major renovation took place, during which the porch staircase was restored, the basement was deepened, and the foundation was renewed. During this renovation, it became a single residence, after which it was converted into two residences in 1998. The building is currently divided into two apartment rights and is a single dwelling. This is a unique situation that offers flexibility, as it can be converted back into two residences.
The surroundings
In earlier times, Falckstraat was a training ground for Napoleon's marching soldiers. Now it is a pleasant green space with old trees. Around the corner is Amstelveld, home to the Flower Market on Mondays and the famous terraces of Nel and Marcella. The wingnut trees add cachet to this highly regarded city square.
Utrechtsestraat has a wide range of delicatessens and restaurants. There are several Michelin-starred establishments and a varied selection of drinking establishments. Cultural life takes place in the Stopera, the Royal Carre, and the Hermitage. The latter hosts an organic market with local products on Saturdays.
For primary education, there are two choices, ASVO and De Kleine Reus, both of which are positively regarded in their own way.
Parking facilities

There are a number of parking garages in the vicinity, with properties For Sale rent.

In 2015, Sold the property to the current owners, Bart and Suzanna, after which I often saw Bart sitting on his favorite bench. That's how we stayed in touch. The daily work in Amsterdam is now being phased out, and the focus is shifting to the house in Zeeland.
Suzanna's English influence can be seen in the charm and decor of the house. There are many custom-made cupboards, a beautiful kitchen with an AGA stove, and a lovely wood-burning stove. Together with the good maintenance, this makes the house ready to move into.
There have been major renovations over the years, the most important of which was in 1973, when the basement was deepened and the foundations were repaired. In earlier times, there was even a pottery workshop attached to the building, but unfortunately this was removed at the beginning of the 20th century.
What I like is that it has two entrances: one on Reguliersgracht for the upper floors and one on Falckstraat for the lower floors. The building is divided into two apartment rights, which makes double occupancy possible.
I think it is one of the most charming corner buildings in the Amstelveld neighborhood, and the curved gable is also a special feature. A very unique national monument with charm and a museum-like identity.
