What the residents will miss
When we moved here more than 15 years ago, we knew this would become our family home. We fell in love with it because it offered us, as a young family, wonderful spaces. Not only the house itself, but also the street, the pleasant neighborhood of Steigereiland, and IJburg as a whole. It had the tranquility and feel of a village, but was still in the city with all its advantages close by.
Our children grew up playing outside in the street and then all over Steigereiland. Safe, but with the idea that the world is at their feet. In the summer, they swam and sailed a lot in their own boat. With your towel over your shoulder or paddleboard under your arm, you could be in the water in less than two minutes. And even in winter, with snow and ice, they enjoyed everything the neighborhood had to offer.
We are very fond of the lovely garden that comes with the house. You can enjoy the sun at any time of the day, whether in front of the house, on the Roof terrace in the Rear garden. In spring and summer, the wide sliding doors connecting the living room to the garden are open.
We spend most of our time in the spacious and bright living room and open kitchen. Enjoying meals together, having drinks, or relaxing quietly on the couch. We have always found this large, open, and especially bright space, where you can spend time together and also do your own thing, to be very pleasant.
IJburg is great: schools nearby, sports in Diemerpark around the corner, shops and restaurants all within walking distance. We are leaving our lovely home, but staying in our beloved IJburg.
