Tour
Located on the Keizersgracht in the heart of Amsterdam, this stunning, light-filled apartment is set on the top floor of a monumental canal house and offers beautiful views over the water.
The entrance to the building breathes history, with marble walls, bevelled glass, a dark green runner, and a classic chandelier that provide a grand and stately welcome. This elegant two-bedroom apartment is situated on the third floor.
At the front of the apartment is the spacious living room with an open-plan kitchen. With a width of nearly seven meters and a part of the living area boasting a ceiling height of approximately 4.30 meters, the space is flooded with natural light. Combined with the magnificent canal view, this creates a truly unique living experience. The open layout enhances the sense of space, with the sleek, modern kitchen as the central focal point. It is equipped with various built-in appliances and a generous kitchen island that not only offers ample workspace but also invites cosy gatherings over a cup of coffee or a glass of wine.
The master bedroom is situated at the quiet rear of the apartment. Authentic wooden beams give this room character and contrast beautifully with the light, natural tones of the floor and walls. The en-suite modern bathroom includes a bathtub, walk-in shower, toilet, and double sink — a space of peace and luxury, beautifully integrated with the original architectural style of the building. From this bedroom, the spacious rooftop terrace is also accessible — a rare and serene outdoor area in the heart of the city.
The second bedroom is located on the mezzanine, accessible via a stylish staircase from the living room. Although this space has a ceiling height of approximately 1.96 m and is therefore classified as “additional indoor space,” it is fully functional and ideal as a second bedroom or workspace.

Het Koopmanshuis aan de Gracht
For me, living on the canal is the ultimate Amsterdam experience. Waking up, opening the curtains and enjoying the view of the canal and the bustling Leidsestraat—that is pure enjoyment. This apartment is in a prime location, wedged between the Spiegelgracht and the Museum Quarter with its many galleries and museums, and on the other side the pleasant Jordaan and the 9 Streets, known for their unique shops, the lively Noordermarkt and numerous excellent restaurants. Thanks to its central location, the entire city is within easy reach.
The apartment is located on the top floor of a stately building. Upon entering you are welcomed in a beautiful, historic communal hall with original ornaments. I also like the combination of the classic building and the modern apartment. I really like the atmosphere of the apartment, it is a wide apartment with lots of windows, height and light. It has a good and spacious layout, a large living room with open kitchen at the front with a beautiful view of the canal, the master bedroom at the quiet rear with an en-suite bathroom and access to the roof terrace. A second spacious bedroom located on the mezzanine and a separate laundry room.
I would like to invite you to come by so that you can experience the apartment as well!
Around the year 1740, amid the flourishing trade and growing prestige of Amsterdam, a stately merchant’s house was built on one of the canals. With a facade width of 7.54 meters, it was a building that was distinguished not only by its size, but also by its solid foundations, carefully laid by Nicolaes Benedictus Ingels. The foundation stone marked the beginning of a house that would remain a model of merchant success for generations. Simon Storm completed the construction work, who finished the building with craftsmanship and precision and gave it its first appearance.
More than half a century later, the house took on a new, more refined appearance. The facade was crowned with a straight cornice, supported by four imposing consoles between which graceful intermediate lights were placed. There once was a balustrade with elegant corner vases on the roof, a sign of the grandeur that the owner wanted to radiate. The windows were made in Empire style, in keeping with the fashion of that time. A stately sidewalk led to the elevated entrance, while a separate lower entrance provided access to the basement. The entrance itself was enriched with a beautifully framed doorway, which invited visitors into a house where commerce and prosperity came together.
At the end of the 18th century the house underwent another subtle but refined change. A cutting window was placed above the entrance. The facade retained its frame facade with a slightly protruding central bay, while the straight frame with the four consoles underlined the stately appearance of the building. Over the centuries, this house remained a silent witness to the changes in the city. Traders came and went, fashions and styles changed, but the foundations once laid by Ingels endured. Today it is a reminder of the grandeur of yesteryear, a piece of living heritage that still breathes the soul of Amsterdam.
Upon entering this breathtaking living room with open kitchen, the width, height and light immediately appeal to the imagination. This spacious loft apartment combines the charm of authentic beams with a modern level of finishing. The open layout provides a spacious feeling, with a stylish kitchen as the central focal point.
The modern open kitchen is the heart of the home and is a dream for cooking enthusiasts. The spacious kitchen island not only offers a generous workspace, but also serves as a cozy place to sit down with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. The sleek kitchen cabinets provide a chic contrast to the bright interior. The sleek extractor hood and subtle lighting give the kitchen a luxurious and contemporary look.
Thanks to the large windows, daylight flows in abundantly and you can enjoy a beautiful view of the city from the dining and lounge area. The room exudes warmth and elegance, with an attractive mix of natural materials, light tones and modern design accents.
The apartment has two bedrooms, with the master located at the rear. This room has a lot of character, with authentic wooden beams that complement the light, natural tones of the floor and walls. The modern bathroom is directly accessible from the master bedroom, and the rooftop terrace is also reachable from this bedroom. The bathroom is equipped with a bathtub, shower, toilet, and double sink, and blends well with the original style of the building.
The second bedroom is located on the mezzanine, accessible via a stylish staircase from the living room. This room offers additional space, making it ideal as a workspace or second bedroom.
The spacious rooftop terrace offers an inviting outdoor space with a rare sense of tranquility in the heart of the city. Located on the eighth side of the property and surrounded by classic façades, this terrace provides a view of the greenery of the private inner gardens. It’s a place to enjoy the outdoors and sun, and to relax.
