De Kleine Koopman
This unique ground floor apartment is located in the heart of the charming and trendy Nine Streets district, offering a beautiful blend of history and comfort.
The basement has recently been renovated with two good bedrooms an extra workspace. Careful consideration has been given to the layout, storage space, and daylight, thanks to the light courtyard that extends into the basement.
What I consider a valuable investment is the preservation of the historical elements on the main floor. The beautiful fireplace, impressive height, and original doors reflect the history of this merchant's house.

's design vision This 4.57 m wide merchant's house was built around 1640 for Pieter de Loo.
It has a facade with pilasters carved into the jambs (the part of a wall between two window frames). Against the roof, it has two pilasters with flower-decorated wing pieces and covered with a triangular pediment.
The current facade dates from around 1860 and has a straight cornice, three pairs of flat consoles, and a sidewalk. In 1917, the lower facade was changed, and in 1924, the sidewalk in front of the Maatschappij Hoeksteen was redesigned by F.H. Holtes. The original house was probably built around 1620 for Mr. Cornelis Pot.
The basement has recently been thoroughly renovated. Thanks to a light well, there is sufficient daylight inside. At the rear are the master bedroom and a second bedroom with access to the patio. In the middle, there is a separate toilet and a modern bathroom with a washbasin, walk-in shower, and bathtub. A study is located at the front. Built-in cupboards have been installed along the foundation wall for extra storage space and an efficient layout.

The hallway has a separate toilet and a completely renovated bathroom, equipped with a washbasin, walk-in shower, and bathtub. In addition, there is a bright study at the front. Café de Pels

Café de Pels is a truly intellectual creative café. Many a book or column has been written here, good conversations are held here, and fun or stupid jokes are tried out here. In the Pels, people also flirt in the Amsterdam way, discuss and, as it should be in an Amsterdam brown café, drink beer. The walls are covered with art made by regular guests themselves. It is a brown café with a creative edge, sandwiches with 'kroket' and a daily special on Mondays.
