Building
Rainbow Offices was designed by Sjoerd Soeters of PHP architects and built between 1997 and 2000 by BAM & Ballast Nedam. To compensate for the existing lack of warmth and boundaries, a colorful street wall composed of smaller sections was designed. The different colors create an abstract whole. A typical feature is the colorful colonnade, which allows visitors to reach the shops, offices, transferium, and station in shelter.
The colored buildings are interrupted by two office buildings in natural stone, which stand at right angles to the stadium. These two volumes mark the southern entrance to the stadium and form a square forecourt. The plinth building effectively functions as an urban poché, filling the space between the stadium and the public space.
