Tour
The ground floor unfolds as a continuous living environment, thoughtfully designed with attention to light, rhythm and materiality. Ceilings of 2.90 metres add a sense of volume to the interior. Tall front-facing windows draw the trees of Oosterpark almost into the room.
The living is reminiscent of a salon — understated, generous and functional. A herringbone-laid wooden floor, equipped with underfloor heating, provides a warm foundation. At the rear, the home comes to life. The dining table forms the beating heart of the space, with a view of the garden.
The contemporary kitchen is sleek and expressive, with dark cabinetry and a marble composite countertop. The kitchen island features integrated pit cooking. Double ovens, a wine climate cabinet, dishwasher and fridge-freezer combination are all subtly integrated. A refined space with French doors opening onto the garden. Adjacent to the kitchen is a practical pantry — ideal for additional storage.
Sleeping Quarters
The bedrooms are spread across two levels. In total, the residence includes four bedrooms and three bathrooms.
On the ground floor, a bright bedroom at the garden side includes a private bathroom with walk-in shower, wash basin and heated towel rail. This room offers added comfort for those seeking (partially) single-level living or an ideal guest suite.
Three well-proportioned bedrooms are located on the lower ground floor. The main suite is generous and luminous, thanks to electrically operated skylights. A bespoke wall of cabinetry spans the full width, with an integrated desk adding to the room’s functionality.
The bathroom has a warm, serene atmosphere and features a bathtub, walk-in shower and wash basin. Two children’s rooms, located on the opposite side of the hallway, are also well-sized. The front-facing room includes a private bathroom in the same refined style, fitted with a shower and wash basin.
This floor is also equipped with underfloor heating, ensuring year-round comfort in each space.
Outdoor Space
The south-facing garden can be accessed via both the kitchen and the living. Sunlight fills the garden throughout most of the day. Large-format tiles, blooming hydrangeas and mature espaliered lindens create a private green retreat. Two skylights connect to the lower level and draw daylight into the souterrain. The garden is directly connected to the kitchen-dining area through French doors and designed for togetherness — from sunlit breakfasts to long dinners with friends.

Parkzicht Oost
Oosterpark 89 A is part of a former bank building – a property with stature, clean lines and high ceilings. Within this solid foundation, the current owners found the perfect base for a contemporary family home: light-filled, comfortable, and complete with a delightful, sunny garden.
When we sold the house to them at the time, it was the modern character that most captured the imagination. The combination of a classical façade, refined finishes and a deep, south-facing garden proved rare. The fact that the house also stands on freehold land made the proposition even more compelling.
Inside, everything is in balance: spacious without excess, atmospheric and contemporary. An ideal place for family life.
With confidence, we now guide this home to its next chapter – and to new residents seeking peace, quality, and the beauty of the Oosterpark right outside the door.
A monumental rhythm along the park. The façade of number 89 tells a story of understated grandeur. Symmetrically composed, with tall windows that follow the rhythm of a classic townhouse — but lighter, more slender, and contemporary. The anthracite-coloured brickwork and crisp white window frames create an elegant contrast that stands out beautifully against the richly decorated façades of the neighbouring buildings.
From 1885 to 1972, Oosterpark 89 served as a residence with an atelier, forming an architectural whole with the adjacent buildings at numbers 86 through 88. Later, the building came into the possession of the NV Nederlandsche Middenstandsbank. Around 1972, a major renovation took place, including foundation reinforcement using De Waal driven piles. In 2016, the building was transformed into a contemporary residential destination, with the addition of a fourth floor atop the flat roof of the third storey.
The high ceilings, deep window recesses and clean lines still refer to the original design.
The sleeping quarters are divided over two floors. In total, there are four bedrooms and three bathrooms.
On the ground floor, a bright bedroom at the rear overlooks the garden and includes a private bathroom with a walk-in shower, washbasin and towel radiator. This room offers added comfort for those who prefer single-level living or serves perfectly as a guest room.
In the lower ground floor are three full-sized bedrooms. The primary bedroom is spacious and filled with light, thanks to electrically operated skylights. A beautifully crafted wall-to-wall wardrobe includes an integrated desk.
The bathroom exudes a warm yet restrained aesthetic, and features a bathtub, walk-in shower and washbasin. On the other side of the hallway are two children’s bedrooms, both generously proportioned. The front-facing bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom, designed in the same refined style with a shower and washbasin.
This floor also benefits from underfloor heating, ensuring every space feels pleasantly warm.
From the kitchen or the living room, step into a deep city garden facing south. Here, one can enjoy the sun for most of the day. Large patio tiles, blooming hydrangeas, and mature linden trees create a green, secluded oasis. Two skylights mark the connection to the lower ground floor and bring natural light down. The garden is directly connected to the kitchen-dining area through French doors and is designed for gathering — from sunny breakfasts to dinners with friends.
Living by the Oosterpark offers a dynamic yet relaxed city atmosphere. Enjoy quiet terraces at Hotel Arena and Pillows Grand Hotel, brunch at Bar Bukowski, or lively evenings at Louie Louie.
