As an agency, we assist with the sale of a wide range of properties. As a real estate agent, this variety is very challenging and contributes to the picture you get of the overall housing market in Amsterdam. On behalf of our professional client, I have already sold many old rental properties in the neighborhood. The potential and current layout appeal to the imagination. The neighborhood has a great dynamic and good sports and other facilities. Gelderlandplein, Zuidas, and Beethovenstraat, among other places, offer a diverse range of shops, specialty stores, and caterers. There are also several good restaurants and cozy cafes in the neighborhood.
The apartment at Schierstins 85, which we are selling on behalf of our office, is a well-designed apartment in the popular and green neighborhood of Buitenveldert. The property has a lot of potential and a lovely east-facing balcony.
If you are interested, I would like to invite you to come and take a look. I will, of course, tell you more about the apartment. Hope to see you soon!

The building block on Schierstins consists of 42 apartments and was built in the post-war modernist architectural style typical of the reconstruction period in the Netherlands (circa 1945-1970). The building block was designed by H. van Vreeswijk and is characterized by:
- functional and sober design: the building has a rectangular, simple structure without unnecessary decorations.
- brick facade: much of the post-war reconstruction architecture used brick as an important material, often in combination with concrete elements.
- large windows with white frames: this contributes to a functional and light living environment.
- Vertical entrance with glass: this creates a transparent and open appearance.
- flat roofs and minimal roof overhangs, characteristic of modernist designs.
A commonly used post-war construction technique is brick assembly construction (BMB), an industrial construction method that was used for various types of housing (low-rise, mid-rise, and high-rise), offices, and schools. This type of construction was widely used in the 1950s and 1960s as an efficient and affordable solution for the rapidly growing urban population.
In the assembly construction method, prefabricated concrete wall elements—half or full story height—are assembled on site with a crane, together with masonry floor slabs. This assembly is encased in fully prefabricated facade elements (half a storey high), constructed from a cavity wall with a concrete inner cavity and an outer cavity of mechanically laid brick. This system was mainly used in North Holland and North Brabant.
The living room forms the heart of the apartment and offers a spacious living area with plenty of natural light thanks to the large windows facing east and west. There is enough space for a comfortable sitting area and a large dining table, making the living room perfect for both relaxation and cozy dinners.
The kitchen is compact and can be designed entirely to your own taste. Some residents have chosen to move the kitchen to the living room, which provides space for a larger kitchen and a more spacious bathroom (see alternative floor plan). There is also the possibility of creating a third bedroom.
There is a separate storage room of approximately 5 m² in the basement.
The apartment has two full bedrooms, both practical and spacious. The master bedroom is located at the quiet front of the apartment and offers an ideal place to relax. There is enough space for a double bed and a wardrobe.
The second bedroom is located at the rear and overlooks the balcony and the green surroundings. This room can be flexibly furnished as a guest room, children's room, or home office. The bathroom is centrally located in the apartment and has a practical, compact layout.
Want to enjoy the morning sun? This is the perfect place to do so. The approximately 6 m² balcony faces east and is accessible from both the kitchen and the bedroom.
