Mazzelman
Some time ago, we were in contact with the sellers about the sale of their ground floor apartment. After a period of radio silence, they have decided to move to a greener location. They are now looking for a detached house in Muiden with lots of space and natural surroundings.
This stylish ground floor apartment is now For Sale a highly sought-after location in the popular 1017 postal code area. The complex was completely renovated in 2020, including the foundation and shell. Design vision

In the second half of the 19th century, Neo-Renaissance was the most popular architectural style, a period in which the Dutch Renaissance of the 16th century was reinterpreted. This style is characterized by horizontal stone bands between the brickwork and stepped gables that are barely distinguishable from the original Renaissance facades. The historical character was further enhanced by richer decoration, which also applied to shops that attracted the public's attention with their striking facades.
Between 1845 and 1885, the Hollandsche Gazfabriek (Dutch Gas Factory) stood on the site where Den Texstraat, Nicolaas Witsenstraat, and Pieter Pauwstraat are now located. This factory was founded by sugar manufacturer C. de Bruyn & Zonen to compete with the already established Imperial Gaz Company, the so-called 'English' gas factory. Sugar refiners, who were major consumers of gas, saw the prices of the English factory rise and decided to produce gas themselves.
From 1890 onwards, houses were built on this site, with the construction of two new streets: Den Texstraat, named after former mayor C.J.A. den Tex (1824-1882), and Nicolaas Witsenstraat, named after a former 17th-century mayor. The playground in the Weteringplantsoen was moved to its current location. In 2020, the area underwent a complete renovation, including the construction of new foundations.

The Predetarian

The Predetariër was founded by Kaj de Jager, James Snoerwang, and Philip Buys, three friends who quit their office jobs after growing increasingly disillusioned with the bio-industry. Based on their shared love of nature and hunting, they developed the idea of predetarian food: mainly plant-based, with the occasional responsible wild meat. Through their webshop, they sell game that is shot for nature conservation in the Netherlands, Germany, and Poland, and they are now bringing the same principle to their physical store and deli. At For Sale products to take home, but you can also sit down for sandwiches such as venison rendang and goose pastrami, accompanied by sustainable drinks.

Akinci

The lover of contemporary art is certainly in the right place at AKINCI. AKINCI has a strong focus on new developments in contemporary art and is explicitly engaged with artists who integrate socio-political, ecological, and gender issues into their work. Their program is determined by a diversity of media and cross-overs between sound, architecture, painting, sculpture, film, and installation. You will find works by, among others, Stephan Balkenhol, Theo Jansen, and Edwin Zwakman.
