Intermezzo
In recent years, the Zuidas has transformed from a business district into a fully-fledged urban neighborhood. And Intermezzo, the building in which this apartment is located, played a key role in this transformation. It is a building that is not only well designed, but also functions well. The entrance area of the building also contributes to the feeling of quality. The reception lobby is neat and welcoming, with its own reception desk and access to two elevators. Residents also have their own storage room, shared bicycle storage, and the option to purchase a private parking space in the underground garage. This specific apartment, which we call Intermezzo 62, is located on the second floor. The floor plan is clear, with space for two bedrooms, an open kitchen, a workspace, and a spacious balcony. The wooden floor enhances that feeling of warmth and tranquility. What makes this home special is not one detail, but the sum of all its parts. You can tell that a lot of thought has gone into the layout, the materials, and how you experience a day at home. That is exactly what makes Intermezzo 62 so pleasant.

Design vision

The Intermezzo residential building is important for the transformation of the Zuidas into a high-quality mixed urban area. For a long time, the majority of the Zuidas consisted of offices. During the day, the area is populated by office workers, but after work it becomes quieter. The Intermezzo residential tower contributes to the city's dynamics with 175 spacious apartments. The elegant tower has two faces. On Mahlerlaan, it has a tall and distinguished city side with a transparent main entrance and large city windows on the rounded corners. On Gershwinlaan, there are spectacularly large balconies, which give the project distinctive look that matches the metropolitan residential quality of the Zuidas. Due to the small size of the construction site, the contractor opted to build without scaffolding. This influenced the design and detailing.

Living and cooking

The living room and kitchen form one large open space with a clear layout. Along the wall, the kitchen has a sleek design with white fronts and a dark worktop. Everything is fully integrated: the hob, oven, refrigerator, and storage space are discreetly incorporated into the design. There is plenty of workspace, ideal for preparing an elaborate dinner.
In the middle of the room is the dining table, the connecting element between cooking, eating, and relaxing. The layout is spacious, with enough room to dine comfortably. At the rear of the house, the space opens onto the balcony. Thanks to the wide sliding glass doors, light floods in and creates a direct connection with the outside.
The sitting area is on the other side of the living room. There is enough space here for a spacious sofa, a coffee table, and a TV cabinet. In the corner, by the window, a workspace has been set up, separate enough to work in peace, yet still part of the whole.
The wooden floor extends to the balcony, giving the space warmth and cohesion. White walls, clean lines, and smart lighting create a pleasant atmosphere.

Sleeping and bathing

At the front of the house are two bedrooms, both in a quiet location and with pleasant proportions. The largest room is furnished as the master bedroom, with space for a generous double bed, bedside tables, and a wardrobe. The finish is neutral and neat, with white plastered walls and the same wooden floor as in the rest of the apartment. The second bedroom is Immediately it and is currently used as a children's room. The room can be functionally furnished as a children's room, but is also suitable as a study or guest room.
The bathroom, like the separate toilet, is accessible from the central hall. It has a bathtub, separate shower, and sink. The choice of light tiles and simple lines makes the space practical and fresh.

The outdoor space

At the front of the apartment is a wide balcony measuring approximately 11 m². The sliding doors effortlessly connect the interior and exterior: on warm days, the living space is in Immediately with the terrace.
The balcony is wide enough for a seating area and a table. The floor-to-ceiling glass balustrade keeps the view open.

Café Loetje South As

In 1977, Café Loetje was established as a billiards café by Ludwig 'Loetje' Klinkhamer, but it wasn't long before they traded the billiards for the tenderloin steak that was served. More than forty years later, Loetje is a huge chain, and the original 'Café' is a household name in Amsterdam. The tasty steak is served with homemade fries and fresh gravy - it's finger-licking good!
