T’ Hekelveld
As a real estate agency, we assist with the sale of a wide range of properties. As a real estate agent, this variety is very challenging and contributes to the picture you get of the overall housing market in Amsterdam. The apartment on 't Hekelveld is located in the heart of Amsterdam, near Central Station and Dam Square. The neighborhood is vibrant and amenities are good. Here you can fully experience the dynamics of a city like Amsterdam! In addition, there are several good restaurants and cozy cafes in the neighborhood.
The apartment at Hekelveld 4 III, which our office has the privilege of selling, is located on the top two floors of the building and, in my opinion, has a very practical layout with a large bedroom. The location in the middle of the bustling city center always appeals to me. In the apartment, you can escape the hustle and bustle of the city and find yourself in an oasis of tranquility.
If you are interested, I would like to invite you to come and take a look. I will, of course, tell you more about the apartment then. Hope to see you soon.

design vision
The apartment at 't Hekelveld 4 is located in a complex consisting of two buildings (Number and 4) that was built under the direction of architect G.A. Roobol in 1927. The building is something of an oddity in the neighborhood due to its Amsterdam School style design. The building, situated in the heart of Amsterdam, reflects the typical stylistic elements characteristic of the period in which it was built. The most striking feature of the façade is the staircase at Number , which folds outwards like a wave. Another striking element is the transition from the plinth to the floors. The plinth, which has housed many shops, is made of green natural stone. The floors are made of classic reddish-brown brick.
In 2002, the building was fitted with new window frames with double glazing. The building has retained its characteristic appearance. The large windows not only provide an abundance of natural light within the living spaces, but also contribute to the aesthetic appearance of the facade.
In 2006/2007, the building was completely renovated internally and divided into apartments. At that time, a foundation survey was carried out, in which the foundation was given a code 2 and found to be in good condition.

Living and cooking
The apartment, located on the top two floors, is accessed via the enclosed entrance on the second floor. The living room is spacious with room for a large sitting area and a dining table. The open kitchen with cooking island forms the heart of the apartment. The kitchen is equipped with various built-in appliances. The layout of the living and dining room invites cozy evenings with friends and family. Thanks in part to the large windows, there is natural daylight on three sides, making the living room a very pleasant space to spend time in. The robust wooden floor completes the atmosphere in the home.

CIMA Rooftop

CIMA is the rooftop bar and restaurant atop The Duyfken hotel, offering views over the rooftops of the city center. At the helm is Mexican head chef Jeniffer Calderon, who creates playful yet refined cuisine with ceviches, tacos, and shareable bites. Her dishes combine fresh acids, heat, and texture, inspired by modern Mexican food culture. The cocktail menu reinforces that energy, with the famous 'taptails' developed by Belgian mixologist Paul Morel.

De Belhamel

This restaurant distinguishes itself in terms of both location and interior. The restaurant and the bar (a real speakeasy) both have a romantic Parisian Art Nouveau atmosphere. French-inspired classics enhance this unique identity with tarte tatin of shallots, silver onions, blue cheese and mustard caramel or pain perdu of brioche with yogurt-orange ice cream. In the summer you can sit on the terrace on the Brouwersgracht.

In 't Aepjen

In the 16th century (the time of the Dutch East India Company), the cafe offered cheap accommodation to sailors. The sailors brought monkeys from overseas. These adorable monkeys were, of course, full of fleas, so everyone who stayed In 't Aepjen came out scratching from the itching. Allegedly, this is where the name of the cafe and the expression "in de aap gelogeerd zijn" (to be in the monkey's lodging, meaning to be in a bad situation) come from. Nowadays, you can still enjoy a drink and look around at all the relics that have been preserved.

Vermeer Restaurant

Many restaurants claim to give vegetables an important role. At Vermeer, this is truly the case. The kitchen has even been adapted to accommodate this. When the hotel restaurant was renovated a few years ago, chef Chris Naylor also made the switch to a somewhat lighter cuisine. There is still plenty of Location beautiful fresh and special meats, but a radish from the rooftop garden is just as likely to be served as an amuse-bouche. The restaurant is located in the NH Hotel Barbizon Palace, opened in 1988, and Gault Millau has awarded it 18 out of a maximum of 20 points.

Café de Vrouw met de Baard

De Vrouw met de Baard - the name alone is reason enough to pop in here sometime. Entirely with its own merchandise, its own sambal and soul cookbook and playlist, the eatery in the center is making its mark on the Indonesian/Moluccan cuisine. Even though the Rendang is the dish for which people come from miles around, the vegetarian alternatives with jackfruit and eggplant are also more than worth it. Linguini

Simplicity is essential in Italian cuisine: as long as the ingredients are good, you don't need much. “Less is more”. They understand that well at Linguini in the Herenstraat. The interior exudes the Italian dolce vita feeling: attractive old tiles and a beautiful long sofa as an eye-catcher: Linguini is a cozy and warm trattoria, with attention to detail. The menu is small and mainly consists of pasta. You can order this either in a small portion (for one person), or in Italian style in a large pan for the ‘famiglia’. So, pasta, pasta, pasta. All prepared with love and passion by the Italian ‘pasta maestro’ named Lorenzo Isidoro.
