Merijn Hartog
Real Estate Agent (Partner)

Merijn

Merijn is known for his creative approach.

“This work requires patience, puzzle-solving, and bringing the right parties together," says Merijn, who has thorough knowledge of the Greater Amsterdam real estate market and years of experience in creating the perfect match between client and property. He distinguishes himself through his dedication, creative perspective, and sincere approach: "The final piece of a sale or purchase is nuance, so that we can reach an agreement." He uses his extensive network to find locations before they hit the market. For example, he heard that an advertising agency was leaving an old tram depot, and Merijn was quickly able to connect the historic property with his client.

After completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering/Architecture in Amsterdam, Merijn worked as a real estate consultant, then joined KS Bedrijfsmakelaars in 2011. Here, he was a partner and owner and led the merger with Broersma in 2022, after having acquired a niche position in finding and connecting creative, exceptional properties in Amsterdam.

Merijn closely follows new trends: "The biggest challenge is occupancy rates. Fewer people are present in the office, but they want more space around them. There is also a need for a homely feel with secluded seating areas and places for video meetings."

Merijn believes that this work has to come naturally to you, and he appreciates how knowledge of the market can sometimes lead to opportunities just falling into your lap. "I recently visited a new client in the morning who wanted to move away from Central Station, and at my next appointment I heard that they actually wanted to work closer to Central Station," Merijn laughs, after which the owners Immediately went Immediately look Immediately offices. "The deal was closed that same afternoon."

Merijn lives with his family on Prinsengracht: “Close to Amstelveld. A small square in the middle of the city with benches around it, a playground, and a jeu de boules court. It has a cozy village feel in the smallest metropolis in the world.”
