Villa Maarsen
Broersma Wonen and I have known this house for over 40 years; the head of the family has long been a client of our office, and we were also invited to the house for meetings. Subsequently, we were involved in the rental process. Selling this house now adds an extra dimension for us.
Back then, and still today, Zuidelijke Wandelweg No. 35 sparks the imagination. The location is exceptional, and the plot of the house is unparalleled. Free and green, living outside within the Amsterdam Ring.
Furthermore, the architecture in form and size has always fascinated me. The house, built in the early sixties as a modern bungalow for its time, already has a very spacious and light-filled ground floor. With sleek lines and divisions typical of mid-century designs.
The living room is beautifully situated to the south and opens onto a delightful terrace. The expansion of the house in the eighties has given it extra allure. History
The original bungalow was designed in 1963 by architect J. Heese on behalf of Mr. A.J.J. Vlasman. In 1975, the house was purchased by the current seller. In 1980, the same architect was commissioned to enlarge the house, giving it its current form. Most recently, around 2008, the house underwent modernization and renovation. Architectural firm Oever & Zaaijer provided the house with additional comfort and light without altering its appearance. During this modernization, the entire roof was also renewed and fitted with new natural stone slates.

Wat de eigenaren gaan missen
Wij zijn destijds op de locatie gevallen omdat het zo vrij ligt en wij niet buiten Amsterdam
wilde wonen, maar wel met de vrijheid die huizen buiten Amsterdam te bieden hebben.
Op de Zuidelijk Wandelweg vonden wij dat: alle kanten groen, zowel nabij de Amstel als verbinding met de Amstel en een uniek groot perceel. Het huis is vervolgens door verbouwingen en de extra verdieping een ideaal gezinshuis geworden. In de loop der jaren, toen onze drie kinderen steeds ouder werden, maar ook toen we kleinkinderen hadden, bleek steeds weer hoe heerlijk dit huis is.
De voor Amsterdamse begrippen enorme tuin met vrij uitzicht en water achter het huis.
Eindeloos met bootjes varen in de zomer en schaatsen in de winter. De speel- en feestkelder was ook altijd fijn!
Het huis en de tuin heeft heel veel fijne plekken om te verblijven. Het liefste was ik in de woonkamer, grenzend aan de tuin en daar het terras. Hier kan men het hele jaar beschut van de zon genieten, zelfs in de winter. Zelfs in mijn nieuwe huis heb ik niet zo’n fijn plekje.
De buurt is niet bij iedereen bekend, dat maakt onbekend – en ten onrechte- onbemind.
Het is gewoon een hele prettige locatie, dankzij de nabijheid van zowel de rivier de Amstel, waar onze grote boot in een haventje lag, als het centrum van de stad. De Rivierenbuurt heeft alles. En via Van Wou fietste ik rechtstreeks naar de Utrechtstestraat.
Niet voor niets blijft vrijwel iedereen hier minimaal 15 jaar wonen.
Wat voor nieuwe eigenaren leuk zou zijn om te weten, zijn deze locaties; slagerij De Pasteibakkerij, IJssalon IJs en Olijtak Nisa, delicatessen. En elk jaar is De Parade een feest waar wij altijd naar toe zijn blijven gaan. Vergeet niet het varen of fietsen via de Amstel naar Ouderkerk, dan kom je langs de mooist denkbare plekjes van Amsterdam.
Ik weet zeker dat de toekomstige bewoners al deze heerlijk dingen gaan ontdekken en ervaren!
