Design vision
The property at Willemsparkweg 123 was built around 1891 as a duplex with the adjacent building. Originally, it was a “herenhuis,” a term used at the time for a large family home. The building is designed in the Neo-Renaissance architectural style. Characteristics of this style include the use of brick combined with natural stone bands and decorations, symmetrical façade layouts, richly detailed window frames, and decorative elements such as cornices. The dormer windows and tall, narrow windows with rounded arches are also typical features of Neo-Renaissance architecture. The entrance and front door further contribute to the impressive appearance.
Inside, there is a representative hallway finished in marble. Both the marble and the paneling are original, enhancing the property’s authentic atmosphere.
