The first buildings on the plot date back to 1904, as evidenced by the permits issued. Over the years, various modifications have been made, including alterations, divisions, and extensions to the building. In 1968, a conservatory was added and the foundations were renewed. Of these historical alterations, only the appearance of the facade is still visible, albeit modified by the addition of a floor. The most recent transformation began in 2021 under the supervision of the architectural firm Wim Key. Materials matching the original facade were used, with the right color accents applied to the brickwork. The bluestone covering of the walls and the reuse and copying of ornaments have resulted in a facade in the original neoclassical style, as it was when the building was founded. The building has been fully upgraded to energy labels A++ and A+++, including NIBE boilers, solar panels, excellent insulation, and a partial sedum roof for water retention. The window frames have been renewed while retaining the original detailing. The roof at the front has been raised to create a false roof to conceal the Roof terrace view, even from the other side of the Amstel. The foundations have been completely renewed and the basement is now a fully-fledged residential floor. In this renovation project, everything has been renewed and copied, with good insulation and practical floor plans being paramount. With high-quality finishes and excellent workmanship, an unparalleled level of quality has been achieved that is new to the market. The internal supervision was carried out by Gwen Hoopman of Gwen Hoopman Architectural Design, who has more than 10 years of experience in interior design. For Weesper No. 122, she created a unique, high-end, and warm design, focusing on natural materials such as natural stone, wood, and glass. Gwen designed not only the interior but also the facade, garden, and balconies. She experimented with color and rounded shapes to create a serene, powerful, and inviting whole. Each apartment within the project given its own identity, with great attention to detail.
