Design vision

De Pijp is a neighborhood where urban vitality and a distinct character come together. Originally developed as a 19th-century expansion district, the neighborhood is characterized by rhythmic facades, lively streets, and a constant flow of residents, entrepreneurs, and visitors. Here, a multi-layered living environment is emerging in which history and contemporary use reinforce one another.
Van Ostadestraat forms a quiet artery within this, tucked away between the liveliness of the Albert Cuyp Market and Ferdinand Bolstraat. The streetscape is defined by classic, human-scale buildings where light, rhythm, and functionality take center stage.
Within this context, the apartment offers a contemporary interpretation of urban living. Recent insulation and technical upgrades ensure a comfortable indoor climate, while the layout is designed for optimal use of the available space. Custom solutions contribute to a sense of calm and clarity.

Boss bike

Sjefietshe is a cevicheria in the center of De Pijp, with a beautiful terrace offering plenty of space. For anyone unfamiliar with this delicious South American dish: the classic Peruvian appetizer consists of raw (white) fish that has been "cooked" in lime juice. The dish is served with chili, cilantro, red onion, and an ocean of lime. An overwhelming taste sensation and therefore difficult to match. Sjefietshe makes a good attempt and creates its own version with Amsterdam flair. In addition to ceviches with different types of fish, there is also the option to enjoy tasty bites, including the Sjefietshe special: their own invention, the 'hot dog octopus'. Enough reasons to stop by and decide for yourself whether the restaurant succeeds in transporting you to higher South American spheres!

En Japanese kitchen & Sake bar

En Japanese kitchen & Sake bar opened its doors in 2015. Chef Ken Osawa and Ryuji Ikemizu (restaurant manager), who previously worked at Yamazato, bring the original Japanese cuisine into view. Every month, chef Ken Osawa (born & raised in Hokkaido) creates a new menu in 3, 6 or 8 courses with attention to the seasons. Manager Ikemizu pairs these with the finest sakes. The sashimi and sushi are both of top quality and it is always beautifully served.

Ikkoku

At Ikkoku izakaya, they serve individual traditional and almost niche izakaya dishes with their own take on sake, wine and cocktail pairing. The two owners started Sushi Fanatics during covid in 2020 and then opened omakase shigure. Ikkoku is a new challenge as they delve even deeper into the niche and unknown world of Japanese cuisine. The individual à-la-carte dishes range from truly traditional izakaya dishes to Japanese dishes that you don't often encounter in Europe,

KID

Levy Byron, Joshua Styns, and Steven Mamahit started during the pandemic. The concept began as a pop-up and now has a permanent location on Ruysdaelkade. The menu has since expanded considerably. Chicken yakitori with kaffir lime and chillies. Chicken wings stuffed with shrimp tartare and a shiitake sauce. Roasted cabbage with fried onion and hollandaise sauce. And, of course, the now famous chicken sandwiches in all kinds of variations, such as Sichuan spiced fried chicken with pickles and garlic mayonnaise served on a sake kasu brioche bun. KID serves cocktails, beer, and a small selection of wines to accompany the food.

Bar Buuf

Bar Buuf was founded by Fleur van Olphen (in collaboration with the owner of Bar Dó), who grew up in Saigon and trained as a chef at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris before opening her own restaurant in Amsterdam. She deliberately chose a name that was homely and accessible, as a counterpart to the many French bistros in the city. The cuisine has a French foundation, with room for influences from other countries thanks to an international team and a menu that changes with the seasons. Fleur likes to be close to her guests and built Bar Buuf as a place where hospitality is a given, from a carafe of water to a basket of bread at no extra charge. Bar Buuf is also open for a simple lunch.

Café Wildschut is located on Roelof Hartplein and is an ideal base for a drink. It is especially nice in the summer, as the terrace is sunny from early morning until evening. Because the café is located on a square, there is always activity. The café is housed in a monumental building of the Amsterdam School style and has a cosmopolitan interior with 1920s elements. It attracts a mixed crowd and has been a household name among Amsterdammers for decades. You can also come here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

In 1977, Café Loetje was established as a billiards café by Ludwig 'Loetje' Klinkhamer, but it wasn't long before they traded the billiards for the tenderloin steak that was served. More than forty years later, Loetje is a huge chain, and the original 'Café' is a household name in Amsterdam. The tasty steak is served with homemade fries and fresh gravy - it's finger-licking good!

Crema

Crema has become a popular hotspot thanks to its artisanal soft-serve ice cream, made from fresh local milk and cream, without artificial flavors or colors. With real vanilla from Madagascar, quality is paramount here, down to the smallest detail. In addition to ice cream, you can also enjoy specialty coffee and homemade cookies, making it just as good a place for a coffee break as it is for dessert. The menu plays with contrasts, from classic sundaes to the surprising combination of soft serve with premium olive oil and Maldon sea salt.
