Spacious and bright apartment of approximately 53 m² with a sunny south-facing balcony. The apartment is located on the second floor of a beautiful and richly decorated building from 1901. Located in the cozy and beloved Duivelseiland neighborhood.
The house features beautiful details such as stained glass and ceilings with beautiful ornaments.
The shared staircase provides access to the second-floor apartment. At the front is the spacious living room with an open kitchen that is fully equipped with a hob, dishwasher, and oven. Adjacent to the living room is the en-suite bedroom. This is a good size with space for built-in wardrobes and a desk for a home office. The sunny south-facing balcony can be accessed via the bedroom.
Design vision
Architect Leendert van der Tas designed the beautiful building on Cornelis Antoniszstraat. He came to Amsterdam in 1889. From 1895 to 1915, he carried out dozens of projects here. He also worked as a mathematician at J.L. Meester's reinforced concrete factory, where he calculated structures. From 1890 onwards, he also gave private lessons in architecture and mathematics. In 1898, he was also a real estate agent.
Van der Tas mainly built residential houses in the suburbs, such as Duivelseiland. He did not shy away from using ornaments in his designs.
The Year of construction the house is 1901.

What the owners will miss
This house has always been a wonderful, if not perfect, place to live. Thanks to its central location, almost everything is within 15 minutes' reach. As a student, you can get to VU University Amsterdam or Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences/University of Amsterdam in no time, and Leidseplein is just five minutes away.
A few minutes' walk away is De Pijp, with so many great cafes and bars that even after 10 years you still won't have seen them all. The Albert Cuyp market and Frans Halsstraat are our favorite places to stroll around on the weekend. During a lunch break, you can also walk to Sarphatipark, or a little further to Vondelpark. The Museumplein is practically your Rear garden you can sit on the grass in the summer and skate in the winter. Café Loetje is always cozy and just around the corner, and you'll find the tastiest sandwiches in Amsterdam at Renzo's on Van Baerlestraat. So you can easily find fun and bustle, while living on a very quiet street with little traffic and few restaurants.
In addition to the location, we will also miss the house itself. The apartment has a unique and light atmosphere because it is an open space. The sliding doors to the bedroom are nice for privacy, but otherwise they are always open and the house feels more like a large studio. The stained glass and the ceiling with decorative moldings give the house a historic character. The balcony gets sun practically all day long, and the closet spaces are very handy for extra storage.
Finally, we will miss our neighbors very much. The street has a nice mix of young and old, and we have always had a very good relationship with the residents in our building.
