Former boat shed
A former boat shed near Het Fort marina has been converted into studio apartments, a building with a rugged, industrial look. The building was constructed in 1963 as a work shed for boats and belonged to 'Het Fort'. An industrial building with clean lines and large steel facades and light brickwork. Elements of the original construction are reflected in the apartment, such as steel trusses and the skylight in the roof construction. The brick-built solid facades have largely been replaced by glass facades.

3-meter-high windows
"On the first floor, the 3-meter-high windowsrunning across the width of both the kitchen and living room create an extraordinary amount of light. The open connection between the two rooms allows light to enter the house from two sides. At my table in the kitchen, I can enjoy the view of the greenery of the Vliegenbos, or in the evening, I can relax on the sofa around the fireplace, where I can unwind and relax."
Travertine was chosen for the kitchen finishes. The appliances are from Gaggenau.

Flexible layout
‘Many rooms in the house are connected, while at the same time there are opportunities to separate, for example, business and private life. For example, I created my office downstairs right next to the entrance, so that upstairs can remain focused on living. The Floor area layout allow for many combinations.  The living room with its fireplace and beautiful light from the north is ideal for evenings and is one of our favorite places."
