Winterising your home

It is getting colder outside and we are seeing signs that winter is on its way! And we want to give potential buyers a great experience when showing your home, even in the colder temperatures. Plus, it is better to prevent frost and water damage than repairing it later.
We have put together a few tips that can help you sell your home with ease when winter comes knocking:

Getting your home ready both for winter and for sale (especially important if your home is vacant)

• Make sure you keep your home at a comfortable temperature (around 17-20 degrees)
• Provide good lighting
• Collect mail out of sight
• Keep your home freshly scented and air it out regularly
• Clear the leaves from the gutters, as they can cause blockages in gutters and downspouts
• Shut off outside taps and drain water pipes to prevent freezing
• Schedule your annual central heating boiler maintenance
